June precipitation was above normal for ten of the twelve northeast states during June 2000. Maine and New Hampshire reported 67% and 86% of normal, respectively. The other ten states reported anywhere from 107% of normal in Maryland and Vermont to 156% of normal in Massachusetts. It was the 8th wettest April-June in Massachusetts and Vermont, and the 10th wettest for the region overall since comparable records began in 1895.
Temperature for June overall averaged quite close to normal. Departures for individual states ranged from -1.4 degrees in Vermont to +1.7 degrees in West Virginia. The average departure for the twelve-state region was 0.3 degrees above normal.
